Flash Image Blog bio picture
  • WELCOME!

Hey! I am Shawna Benson and I am a portrait photographer based in Bigfork Montana. I started Flash Image in 2000 in Phoeniz Arizona but moved back to my hometown of Bigfork in 2007, with my husband, to raise our family. I have two amazing kids; they keep me young and give me grey hair (go figure).

Photography has always been a passion of mine and I feel totally blessed to be living my dream. I love what I do and I hope you like what you see!

David S

Shooting this time of year is so great; I am just so excited to see the sunshine.

Perfect for a second session with David. He is such a hard working, kind, young man; such a pleasure to hang out with. Love that he sported the Drive One 4 UR School T…really great color and it looks great in the photos. David has pretty cool style and it really shows. He knows I like accessories and he never lets me down with belts, shoes, hats, ext…; love it.

I am excited to see what the future has in store for him, no doubt he will accomplish great things.

Thanks David for a great photo shoot and I wish you the very best; congratulations!

INTRODUCING THE NEW FLASH IMAGE BLOG

Welcome to the new and improved Flash Image Blog!

A while back a good friend and fellow photog recommended ProPhoto to me and although I really liked their blogs I decided to go a different route…not my best idea ever let me    tell you. It was ok but nothing compared to what ProPhoto has to offer.

So, several months and a little frustration later I decided to take the plunge and I am so thrilled with how it turned out. I had already been revamping my branding, as well as my online Store so it made sense to do it all at once.

I even did a photoshoot with fellow photog Mindy Passons of The Royal “WE” Photography to get a few images of myself to have on here, my Facebook  page, and the new Store . It was surprisingly fun but I don’t think I will make a habit of being the subject of photo shoots; I definitely feel more comfy behind the camera. Mindy was great; she made me feel at ease, the weather and light was great, and we laughed a lot.

As weird as it is for those of us that are use to shooting rather than posing I think it is important to be in front of the camera on occasion. It helps you understand your customer a little better if you have spent some time in their shoes for a change.

I hope you enjoy the new blog. I will be loading several of my last few shoots so come back and visit me and of course don’t forget to post comments…

Sherry Curtis - Wonderful pictures glad you had fun being on the other side of the camera. I do have to say though my favorite picture is the one of you holding the camera. There is always an extra sparkle in you eyes when you have a camera in your hands.
